 Pat Murphy’s practice is focused on
Estate Planning (Wills, Powers of Attorney and ancillary documents) for clients
who are living comfortably or who are semi-affluent. Murphy has practiced law
in Ottawa for over forty years. He established an Estate Planning Academy for
over 70 Ottawa lawyers, and at the request of the Ontario Bar Association has
chaired Ottawa’s Make-a-Will-Month Program.
Murphy has presented his tax-saving inspired Half-Tax Will® Process using
testamentary trusts to various Financial Advisor Associations, Charities,
public and in-house groups, the Canadian Academy of Senior Advisors and
candidates in Algonquin College’s Certified Financial Planners Program.
Murphy is Ottawa’s first Certified Senior Advisor (2007 Award of
Excellence), and is very involved in the local community. He has been legal
counsel for the Alzheimer Society of Ottawa for over twenty-five years, is a
board member of The Council on Aging and is legal counsel on its Elder Abuse
Consultation Team.
